(AFP) Washington DC— US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has called on Nigeria to find and punish those responsible for the killings of more than 500 Christians in a wave of sectarian slaughter.
“We continue to urge all parties to exercise restraint,” Clinton told reporters, adding the Nigerian government “should make sure the perpetrators are brought to justice.”
Clinton addressed reporters during a press conference with Gabon President Ali Bongo after more than 500 people were reported killed in three Christian villages in the (northern middle belt city of Jos).

“The Nigerian government should ensure that the perpetrators of acts of violence are brought to justice under the rule of law and that human rights are respected as order is restored,” the chief US diplomat said. ref: AFP

The crises in Jos is both political & religious. The Islamic world has a hand in it. They are trying to prove to the west that Nigeria is an Islamic state & are fighting the Islamic course. Good will always prevail above evil!

It seems Mrs Clinton do not understand how our system works.jos killing is more of politics and ethnicity than religion belief.so i think she is getting the whole thing wrong by her concern statment in Gabon.it unfair of her to only concern herself with the christians who lost there lives(may there soul rest in peace).Though am less suprised for the US is yet to admit to the killing of inocent children, men, women in various places they fougth

Let the truth be announced. Muslims attacked 3 Christian villages and killed about 500 Chistians. Are you celebrating or regretting this hoodlum and barbaric actions of those enslaved religious fools ?

  4. Bashir Kabir says:

Clinton should have said “more than 500 people killed” instead of “500 christains” because christains were not the only victims of the massacre. but then that’s what the media has in favour. we are looking for solution and unless the true nature of a problem is identify, it’s solution cannot be guessed. do the Nigerian power brokers and those conern think its more shame for the country if it is known by the world that its conflict is tribal and ethnic inherent than if it is assumed that it is religious? then why the smoke screen? we Nigerians all know this simple fact, dont we? Clinton if you want to help start with clarifying the fact, which believe me is kept hazy from the world.

  5. Obinwa Emeka says:

The fact still remains that the perpetraitors of this act are not faceless and our security agencies has refused to take up to there responsibility,I this because reports said that information came before the attack.

The only way forward for Nigeria is to stenghten the rule of law. Without real consequenses for their actions, this will not stop.
