Desperation and con artistry has led a man posing as the
son of United States senator Edward Kennedy into trouble.
Meanwhile, he has been granted bail after being arrested in
the Ghanaian capital for defrauding a hotel owner of
thousands of dollars, legal officials said on Tuesday,
August 17. The 22-year-old man claiming to be Kennedy's son
was granted $8 000 bail on Monday by an Accra Circuit
Tribunal, officials from the state prosecutor's office
said. According to the prosecution, after defaulting on his
hotel bills, the man posing as Kennedy convinced the hotel
owner to invest in a fake company purporting to manufacture
oxygen tanks and bottles.
